English Station Elementary Bulletin for Thursday, September 09, 2010

TARDIES BEGIN!!! We will begin counting tardies on Tuesday, September 7th. So far this school year, we have not counted any initial tardies to school. Beginning Tuesday, we will implement the tardy policy outlined in the Family Handbook. Students must be in their seats ready to begin work with the bell rings at 7:55. Anyone not in thier seats ready to work, must stop in the office to receive a tardy slip before entering class. Please plan to leave home in enough time to arrive to school on time.


STEPPIN' UP FOR THE ARTS The Steppin' Up for the Arts walk-a-thon event will be held on Friday, September 10th from 5 pm to 8 pm. In addition to walking there will be a cookout and awards ceremony. Information concerning this event was sent home with your student on Monday, August 30th. Permission slips are due back to the office by Thursday, September 2nd.


MIDDLETOWN FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL The Middletown Family Fun Festival is being held on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th. Christian Academy will have a booth at this event. Come visit the booth and bring perspective families!


CONFERENCE DAY--SEPTEMBER 22ND Wednesday, September 22nd is a conference day for elementary and middle school students. Elementary and Middle school students have the day off!! (High school students will be in session.) Be sure to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher if you have not alraedy done so.


SEPTEMBER FIELD TRIPS Fifth grade is going to Hodgenville on September 8th--Regular Uniform dress required--bring sack lunch to eat while on the trip--permissions slips should hve already been turned in Kindergarten is going to Stage One on September 8th--Chapel dress is required--bring sack lunch to eat upon return--permissions slips due back this week Fourth grade classes will be going to Ft. Harrod and Shaker Village on September 24--regular uniform required--bring sack lunch to eat on the trip--permission slips due back September 17th Second grade classes will go to Huber's on Thursday, September 30--regular uniform required--bring sack lunch to eat while on trip--permission slips will be due back September 24th


PICTURE MAKE-UP DAY Make-up day for school picture is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28th. More information will be coming home with picture proofs.


CHAPEL Elementary chapel is held every Tuesday morning at 8:15 am. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend. Seating is such that you cannot sit with your child, but there are plenty of seats available along the back of the auditorium for guests.


HONEY BEEZ SALE FYI--Elementary navy jumpers are on sale for $20 and all men sizes of uniform pants are currently 25% off!!


COAT DRIVE The 2nd Annual Coat Drive is Friday, September 17th during the CAL versus Holy Cross Varsity Football game. Clean out your closets and bring your gently used coats, hats, gloves and scarves. The homeless need our help more than ever! All donations will be given to the Wayside Christian Mission. It is our hope to collect more than 1,500 coats! Last year we LINED the fence and blessed so many! Mark your calendar and letŐs do it again.
