FINE ARTS WALK-A-THON
Will take place on Friday, September 10 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the football field and track to raise money for the Fine Arts Program. The walking will take place from 5-7 p.m. Every student who raises at least $20 will get a t-shirt. There will be prizes for the most steps taken, most money raise, and most sponsors. If middle school students raise $20,000.00 or more, Mr. Mounce and Mr. McCartney will shave their heads! Check with your student to see if they have signed up! Money and sponsor forms are due back to homeroom teachers on Monday, Sept. 13.

HANG A COAT FROM THE HEART OF CAL
The CAL Football Family is partnering with Wayside Christian Mission to help warm the homeless in Louisville by hosting a coat drive September 17th. The goal is to collect 1,500 gently used or new coats for men, women and children. Bring your coats to the varsity football game (on a hanger if possible) on Sept. 17th at 7:30 p.m. where they will be hung on the fencing surrounding the football field. Alternate drop-off sites are: 9/14 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the 5th/6th grade football game or Wednesday, 9/15 through Friday, 9/17 in Centurion Hall.
5TH ANNUAL MS KICK-OFF COOKOUT
Will take place on Tuesday, September 28th at 5:00 p.m. in the middle school circle. PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE. Families are asked to bring driinks, chairs or blankets for their family only. Families with the last name A-M need to bring a side item to share and families with the last name N-Z need to bring a dessert to be shared. Hot dogs, hamburgers and paper goods will be provided! Helpers are needed to grill and set-up. If interested, please contact Bonnie Dibble at 267-6993.
OPERATION PARENT CLASSES
Program for parents of children in 6th through 12 grades. It will not only raise parents' awareness regarding today's pre-teen and teen culture, but it will also provide parents with some very practical, positive strategies for steering their children in the right direction and staying strong throughout this very challenging time in their lives. The Cost is $80.00 which includes 8 hours of classes, a class workbook, audio c.d.'s, and a Parent Handbook). Fall classes will take place on Friday's from 8:30-10:30 on Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1st, and Oct. 8th in the Chapel Auditorium.
MS GIRLS BOOK CLUB
Will take place on Friday, October 1st at 3:15 p.m. in the middle school library. The Club will discuss the book "The Midwife's Apprentice" by Karen Cushman. Join the club on October 1st for snacks, book discussion and a special hands-on activity about life in the Middle Ages.
